We start with the child. We support the whole family because in the first five years, you can’t help one without the other.
Juniors is a South Lanarkshire charity supporting children and families from pregnancy to age five. We bring together play, early development, practical help and community care under one roof in Hamilton — so that every child gets the start they deserve, whatever their family’s circumstances.

Supporting Children From Pregnancy to Age Five
Why the early years
A child’s first five years shape their language, confidence, relationships and readiness for school more than any years that follow. When a family is under pressure — money, isolation, ill health — those are the years most easily lost. Juniors exists so they aren’t.
Pregnancy & Babies
Bonding, sensory play and early parent support.
Toddlers (1–3 years)
Stay & Play sessions that build confidence, language and social skills.
Speech & Development (2–4 years)
Activities that strengthen communication and interaction.
School Readiness (3–5 years)
Preparing children for nursery and primary school through play-based learning.
Our Impact
Making a Difference for Local Families
2000+ families supported each year
4,000+ children accessing play sessions
Thousands of essential items distributed to families
Hundreds of parents supported through community groups
Behind every number is a child gaining confidence, a parent finding support and a family feeling less alone.
WHY SUPPORT JUNIORS
Why Juniors Matters
Families raising young children face many challenges.
Financial hardship, isolation and limited access to safe play environments can all affect a child’s development during the early years.
Juniors exists to ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn and thrive regardless of their circumstances.
Through community support, early learning opportunities and practical help, we are building stronger futures for children across Lanarkshire.
